October 1 - 8, 2006. 18th Voyage of the Freedom of the Seas.
I am exceptionally proud to say that I was part of the Inaugural Season of the Freedom of the Seas - the world's Largest Cruise Ship.
The ship itself has so much class and spunk that it's hard to take it all in in just the days allotted for one to be aboard. It was absolutely stunning - every bit of it. The service couldn't be better and the food was just the same. Dinner was always so much fun, as well. Special thanks to Christian and Romeo for being such sweethearts!
The ports of call were well selected, as well. Mexico was grand, as it was before. They're still not recovered from all the hurricanes the year before, but they're making progress. Grand Cayman was a riot, for a change. Swimming with stingrays is certainly an experience everyone should be a part of. Jamaica was not my favorite, and I'm sure many can agree. Labadee, Haiti (Royal Caribbean's portion of Haiti which they purchased not too long ago) was my favorite place ever. It was so stunning, as you'll see in the photographs which are posted.
If anyone has the chance I highly recommend trying to grab a spot on Freedom. Liberty of the Seas, Freedom's exact replica and Sister Ship, will be sailing May of 2007. The third of the series is yet to be announced. I can hardly wait to get on the Genesis Class - the next in line after Freedom's.
[EDIT]
Next Approx. Cruise Date: October 13, 2007 - Liberty of the Seas
